The Mission

Jake Kielb's Hockey Foundation was founded by Gina Usufzy in 2016 after she watched kids in Las Vegas struggle to afford hockey equipment. What began as a mission to provide free gear has grown into a comprehensive scholarship program supporting young athletes across Southern Nevada.

The foundation removes financial barriers that keep Las Vegas youth from experiencing the transformative power of hockey — providing equipment, covering registration fees, and offering scholarship funds for ice time, travel, and tournaments.

The Vision: Las Vegas Community Sports Complex

The foundation is actively working to build a $15 million multi-sport facility featuring two full-size ice rinks and an indoor soccer and lacrosse field. This complex will serve thousands of Las Vegas families and become a permanent home for youth sports in the community.

Fundraising and awareness for the complex is led by Help Vegas Play — a dedicated arm of the foundation working to make this vision a reality.

Gina Usufzy's Full Story

In addition to founding the hockey foundation, Gina Usufzy also established the Las Vegas Ice Warriors Youth Hockey Organization in 2017. Her work has been covered by KTVN Channel 2 Las Vegas and CBS42, and she continues to lead both organizations while raising three children.

Gina is also the author of The Adventures of Maverick the Hockey Player — a children's book series whose proceeds support the foundation's scholarship fund.
